Personal Reflections

I realised quite some time ago, that two of our country's main religions, COULD not actually be considered religions. Taoism and Buddhism CANNOT actually be considered a religion, on grounds that, it has no diety. Taoism is a philosophy by Lao Zi, Buddhism is actually a philosophy too, as Buddha DID NOT claim Godhood, all he claims is to lead believers onto the path to Enlightenment, or Nirvana...so where does the prostrating Acolytes chanting praises to Buddha(as a god) come about? And did anyone saw a Taoist priest performing the rites for the dead? The priest have to jump across a bin of fire, as well as spit alcoholic stuff into it to increase burning. I saw one such priest having his robes caught fire...LOL...but it was a very solemn procession. These people are DEADLY serious in their faith.


P.S. for the belief of a sect,cult,etc.etc. to be considered a religion, it has to have a diety and some kind of divine power at work.
P.P.S without this requiem, the belief cannot be considered a religion, as a religion is practically a worship of a diety or something sacred, and thus IN MY OPINION, it classifies as a philosophy or a mere belief.
